It’s been a rough start to the season for Buffalo, and that’s a big understatement. With a 3-15-1 record thus far, this could be a long season with change on the way.
The Sabres have dropped the past two games, and six of the last seven, including a loss to the Kings just two games ago. Buffalo were shutout in Los Angeles as Mike Richards and Anze Kopitar scored the only goals while Jonathan Quick made 19 saves for the shutout.
Tonight will be the final time these two teams meet despite the fact that it’s only November. The Sabres have yet to win on home ice, but will look to earn that first home victory of the season.
Following the poor effort against Anaheim in a 6-2 to close out their California road trip, head coach Ron Rolston said he may try shifting some of the lines for tonight.
The Kings have won three of the past four games, and are looking to beat Buffalo for the second time in less than a week.
Both Richards and Kopitar lead the Kings in points with 17 apiece, but it’s Justin Williams on top in goals. He has seven in the first 18 games, including three on the power play.
Cody Hodgson is off to a strong start, posting 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 20 games.
It’s expected to be Quick vs. Miller in goal, in what could be two selection for Team USA in the upcoming Olympics.
