Why Flyers Will Struggle In Game 6

The Stanley Cup has arrived in Philadelphia for game six tonight. However, it is the Chicago Blackhawks that have the opportunity to win it in front of the sea of orange. After a 7-4 pounding of the Flyers in game 5, Chicago hopes to avoid a game seven and win Lord Stanley tonight.

Regardless of who the better team is, Philadelphia is going to have a tough time against Chicago tonight.

With their backs against the wall in front of their home crowd, there is no reason Philadelphia shouldn’t win tonight’s game. The Flyers will be desperate, and if they want tonight’s game more than Chicago, then they will send it to a game seven.

It’s hard to believe that the Flyers have made it to game six in the Finals, considering that they only made the playoffs due to a shootout win on the final day of the regular season. Philadelphia will be looking for payback tonight.

After the game five loss, the Chicago Tribune printed a full size poster of Chris Pronger in a skirt. The poster read “-4 plus/minus in three Chicago wins, -5 plus/minus in game 5, 100% chance we’ll change our mind if the Hawks sign him”

Pronger did nothing but shove it aside. “I don’t read what you guys write. Good or bad.” Pronger said. “I really couldn’t care, to be honest with you,” Pronger said. “I’m worried about playing the game.”

A game seven would be exciting to watch, but the Flyers have to get there first. If they can make it there, it’s anybody’s game. It’s hard to imagine Chicago playing harder than the Flyers tonight, but anything can happen in the playoffs.

What do you think? Who wins tonight’s game? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
