Lehner called up

Lehner

It’s official. The Sabres have recalled Robin Lehner from Rochester and sent down Linus Ullmark. Lehner came into the season with the No. 1 job in the net, but went down with an ankle injury just 28 minutes into opening night.

After recovering, Lehner recently went to Rochester for a conditioning stint with the Americans. His numbers weren’t spectacular as he posted a .888 save percentage over three games, along with a goals against average of 3.33.

To make room for him, the club has sent down Ullmark. There was some speculation that Chad Johnson may have been the one sent down due to Ullmark’s recent play, but it was not so.

Ullmark has gone 7-10-2 with a .915 save percentage and a 2.58 goals against average.

Lehner is expected to start this weekend as the Sabres are home to host both Boston and Washington.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
