Cody McCormick hasn’t played a game in well over a year, and yesterday, the Sabres’ forward announced his retirement.
McCormick was hospitalized back in January 2015 after a blood clot was found in his leg. Instead of risking health and going back to the NHL, he has opted for retirement.
His birthday is this Monday (Apr. 18) and he will be 33 years old. McCormick played in parts of five seasons for the Sabres, scoring 11 goals and 21 assists in 201 games.
We thank Cody for his contributions and wish him the best in a healthy and speedy recovery.
