All signs point to Jack Eichel being back in the lineup for the Sabres Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Center!
It’s music to the ears of Blue & Gold faithful.
Leading to early speculation he’d be back, Coach Bylsma stated Sunday there would be another callup for today. There wasn’t one in KeyBank Center this morning.
Nearing the seven week mark of his recovery, Eichel practiced with the team this morning, playing on the team’s first power play unit and centering Evander Kane and Sam Reinhart.
The power play unit featured Eichel, Reinhart, Ryan O’Reilly, Kyle Okposo and Rasmus Ristolainen.
Eichel was coy and would not guarantee he’d play. He said he’s cleared all hurdles and is going to Ottawa. “I feel good. I’m moving. There’s no real restrictions, so I feel pretty good right now.”
“Who knows what will happen tomorrow night? It’s more than 24 hours away. All I can say is I felt good.” -Jack Eichel
Having Jack back in the lineup instantly improves the team. “You just think about the matchups. Everyone’s going to benefit from him getting back in the lineup,” added Coach Dan Bylsma.
The forward lines in practice this morning:
Evander Kane-Jack Eichel-Sam Reinhart
Matt Moulson-Ryan O’Reilly-Kyle Okposo
Marcus Foligno-Johan Larsson-Brian Gionta
William Carrier-Derek Grant-Zemgus Girgensons
In a word, “Yes!”
