Ullmark called up

The Buffalo Sabres have called up goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

Anders Nilsson is starting in goal Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers as Robin Lehner is out with the flu. Lehner will not even have backup duties. Instead, Ullmark will take that role.

Ullmark has played 28 games for the Amerks this season, posting a 3.06 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. He has not played for the Sabres since April 9 of 2016, which was the season finale victory over the New York Islanders.

With the uncertainty of Lehner’s flu bug, Ullmark has a chance to get a start since the Sabres have three games in the next four nights.

Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
