The Sabres have signed Lawrence Pilut, a 22-year-old defenseman from Sweden.
He is coming off a great year in the Swedish Hockey League, in which he recorded the most assists by a defensman with 30 along with the most points (38).
Eric Dunay from SB Nation described Pilut in a recent article:
“By all accounts, Pilut is a highly-skilled playmaker. He has a smaller frame – 179 lbs, 5’11” – but has been known to play aggressively. Interestingly enough, the reports heading into his draft year were concerned with his offensive ability, but he’s drastically improved in that area.”
