During Monday’s press conference, Dahlin said he had no preference on what number he would wear:
“I’ll take what I get. I’m pretty excited to see what it is.” No preference on a number.

Dahlin will be the first since Matt Moulson to wear #26, and the 21st in franchise history. Some notables are Thomas Vanek, Derek Plante and Eric Boulton.
“Just to put on this logo, it’s amazing. I’ve been waiting for this for so long. Finally, I’m here. I’m just so motivated to win hockey games. I will bring everything I can to this team. That’s what I think about.” – Dahlin

The teenager has a lot to learn and plans on going home and coming back to Buffalo in late August. He said numerous times how eager he is to begin the season, and already knows about one of the team’s biggest rivals.
“I heard that Buffalo and the Toronto Maple Leafs are having some hard games so that’ll be fun. I’m looking forward to that.”
The Sabres tweeted a teaser on Monday morning of what jersey number Rasmus Dahlin will wear and it has fans going crazy, but not just because of the potential number. It’s the color of the jersey in the video. Take a look:

The Sabres also hinted at a royal blue jersey, a different shade that a lot of fans would like to see them change to. This will be Buffalo’s 49th season and many speculate that the team will have third jerseys with that royal blue color to celebrate their 50th season in 2019-2020.
Would you prefer the #Sabres to switch to a royal blue jersey?
