Marchand’s 5-point night
Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand had two goals and three assists Sunday night against the New York Rangers. He was named NHL’s First Star of the Week on Monday and ranks fifth in the league in scoring with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) through 11 games.

Svechnikov’s Lacrosse Goal
Hurricane’s Andrei Svechnikov is the first player in NHL history to successfully score a “Michigan” lacrosse style goal Tuesday Night against the Calgary Flames.
Mike Legg, who played for the NCAA Michigan Wolverines in 1996, was the first hockey player to fame the play style.

Zadorov VS Panthers
Although Colorado defensemen Nikita Zadorov came in like a wrecking ball Wednesday night against the Florida Panthers, it was not enough to seal a victory.
The 6-foot-6, 235 pound Russian native put in work, with his biggest victim of the night being Panther forward Jayce Hawryluk. Zadorov put Hawryluk in a headlock and the Florida Player gave him some not-so-nice words. Naturally, Zadorov took care of business.

The antics didn’t stop there. Late into the third period, Florida winger Dryden Hunt checked Zadorov along the benches. Zadorov returned the favor, gave him a light cross-check, Hunt responded with a slash, giving Zadorov the go-ahead to drop the gloves, and also an aching to challenge the whole Panthers bench. The Panthers walked away with the sudden death win, 4-3.

Wilson:
Capitol’s Tom Wilson has a reputation as the team’s enforcer, and lately, he has been keeping up with it. Tuesday night while playing the Toronto Maple Leafs, Wilson laid a crunching hit on Jake Muzzin in the corner after he got rid of the puck in the first period. The defenseman favored his right leg as he skated toward the bench, and did not return to the game. After the game, head coach Mike Babcock confirmed that Muzzin’s injury is not serious and was unsure of the severity. Wilson was not charged a penalty for his hit to Muzzin but he was penalized for the hit on Tyson Barrie, charging and roughing, later in the game. It is questionable if there is any supplemental discipline from the league for either hits.
