Chase for the playoffs

The Buffalo Sabres have a 5.3% chance of making the playoffs.

Odds: The odds do not sway in Buffalo’s favor, but due to a weak Atlantic Division, the Sabres are still in the race. They only need to pass two Atlantic teams to get in a playoff spot. That’s Florida and either Boston or Toronto.

Last night’s games: Not a great night for Sabres fans. The Islanders and Bruins both won, while the Maple Leafs picked up a point. That puts the Sabres six points out of the final wild card spot and the third division spot.

Flames @ Panthers (7:30 pm) – Florida is a team that Buffalo will most likely have to pass if they want to make the playoffs. Root for Calgary tonight.

Biggest Current Target: JUST WIN

To make the wild card, the Sabres would have to past at least five teams. They trail the New York Islanders by six points.

To grab the third spot in the Atlantic Division, Buffalo would have to pass at least four teams. They trail the Leafs by six points.

There are way too many teams in the mix to narrow it down to one target. The Sabres just need to worry about themselves and win.
