The Buffalo Sabres entered the 15th week of hockey, looking to build off of their 5-game home streak, as two of three games were to be played at home.
Unfortunately for Buffalo, their first of two home games was postponed due to the terrible weather conditions brought on by Winter Storm Ion. This game has been rescheduled for February 25.
Buffalo’s second game of the week provided the Sabres with a point, but could not pull through in a shootout against Florida. The final game of the week would end in the same way, but a different result. On a Sunday afternoon in Washington, Buffalo was able to grind out a win in a shootout against the Capitals. This would be the Sabres first road win since Ted Nolan was named interim head coach.
Heading into Week 16, the Buffalo Sabres have a 13-26-5 record with 31 points. This currently has Buffalo in 8th place in the Atlantic Division, and 16th in the Eastern Conference. The Sabres also have a league-worst -44 goal differential.
