Buffalo will look to make it five in a row as they take on the Minnesota Wild tonight.
With another dominating performance by Carter Hutton and another key goal by Jeff Skinner in their last outing, the Sabres head to the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota for a contest against the Wild.
Season series: This will be the first of two games between the clubs this season. They will play again on February 5th when the Wild visit the KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo. Minnesota has taken the last three games from the Sabres with Buffalo’s last win coming in November of the 2016-2017 season.
Buffalo notes: The Sabres are going to attempt something against the Wild that they haven’t accomplished since the 2011-2012 season, and that’s five wins in a row. With the victory over the Winnipeg Jets and a Boston Bruins loss, the Sabres moved to third in the Atlantic Division, only three points behind division leading Tampa Bay Lightning. Not only is the team streaking, but Jeff Skinner will be going for a goal in his 5th straight game.
Minnesota notes: The Wild are on a hot streak as of late having won four out of their last five. With their strong play Minnesota is right on the heels of the Nashville Predators for the top spot in the Central Division of the Western Conference. The matchup with the Sabres ends a three game home stand for the Wild dropping a game to the Washington Capitals, 5-2 and a lopsided victory over the Vancouver Canucks, 6-2.
